Ahh, the mile. One whole mile. Who knew that 1,609 metres could evoke so many emotions? The Masich Mile, named after Prince George's number one track coach, Tom Masich, is PGRR's tribute to the legend himself. Almost every runner who grew up in Prince George has had Tom coach them at some point in their lives. Even if you didn't grow up in Prince George, if you run at the track long enough, Tom will probably see you and, if so, more than likely give you a tip or two on how to improve your running. What a guy!
1 mile course:
It's 4.02 laps (4 laps + 9 metres) of Masich Place Stadium. Sounds easy? Just do it faster! There are two starts for this event: Those that think they can run under six minutes, and those that think they will be over six minutes.
4 x 400m Relay
Who wants to relive their old track days? We do! There will be a small break between the mile and the 4 x 400m events in order to let those who want to race both events recooperate between the two.
- As per PGRR Club policy, both headphones and pets are not permitted on course during the event.
- This event takes place completely on the Masich Place Stadium track.
- Bring lots of friends and family to cheer you on!
