SALLY ROWE MEMORIAL AWARD

Sally Rowe was an avid outdoor enthusiast and lifelong athlete who immigrated to Canada in the 1980’s.  Sadly, the Prince George resident passed away in 1990, after a courageous battle against leukemia.

Rowe had a longstanding belief that as long as a person tried their best, they didn’t have to win to be successful.  She felt that to push one’s self as far as possible was reward in itself.

To honour her memory, Sally’s family established this memorial award to be handed out annually to a member of the local running community whose efforts – either personally or at the community level – are deserving of recognition.

Fittingly, the award is handed out at PGRR’s final event of the race season, the Joe Kelly Memorial Run, in October.
