We really enjoy getting to meet and connect with new-to-us PG runners and those who come from out of town to take part in our events!
And we get excited by the prospect of tackling a race in another community.
So, to spark an interest in other sporting events and, perhaps, alter your travel plans – here is a list of just some of the great events in our region:
PG Iceman – Prince George’s winter multi-sport event involves skiing, running, skating, and swimming (February)
Prince Rupert Half – Prince Rupert’s annual 8km, half-marathon and two-person relay (April)
Wild Goose Chase – Vanderhoof’s annual 8km or 5km run, jog, or walk (May)
Vertical Slam Ultimate Challenge – Taylor’s annual 2.3km, 5km, or 10km vertical climb, or climb PLUS obstacles (June)
Bulkley Valley Pool Triathlon – Smithers’s annual swim, bike, and ride triathlon for ages 5-adult (June)
Tyhee Lake Triathlon – Smithers’s annual standard distance triathlon and duathlon, sprint triathlon, and Try-a-Tri event (July)
Morice Mountain Run – Houston’s annual 22.5km run or 5.5km fun run (July)
Emperor’s Challenge – Tumbler Ridge’s annual half-marathon at Babcock Mountain (August)
Hah Nic Na’ Aah – Babine Mountain Half-Marathon in Smithers (August)
Morfee Lake Scramble – Mackenzie’s 15km trail run/walk at Morfee Lake’s Second beach (August)
Mount Robson Marathon – Valemount’s 5km, Kinney 12km, half-marathon, and 50km ultra along the Berg Lake trail (September)
Mad Moose Marathon – Prince George’s annual 10km, half-marathon, and ultra 63km trail race (September)
King of the Mountain – Terrace’s annual 10km trail race (September)
That Dam Run – Hudson’s Hope’s annual 5km and 10mile run at the WAC Bennett Dam (September)
Quesnel Women’s Fall Challenge – Quesnel’s annual 5km, 10km, and half-marathon (September)
Pope’s Peak Adventure Run – Fort St. James’s annual 22km trail race to the summit of Mt Pope (October)
