The Joe Kelly Memorial Run is PGGR’s year-end event to honour a dear friend and mentor to many in the running community.
Joe lost his life while running a race in Australia in 2013. Every October, the club hosts a run and social gathering at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Centre to remember him and collect funds for The Right to Play, an organization close to Joe’s heart.
PGRR members lead participants on 30-minute, one-hour, and two-hour trail and road routes, taking advantage of the fall colours and amazing trail system at Otway.
The start times are staggered, so that all runners finish at the Otway Nordic Ski Centre at 11am, where we all gather for a pizza feast and PGRR members can pick up their t-shirts and finisher’s medals for the season.
Come Join Us! It’s a great way to pay tribute to Joe, to gather with friends, and remember that running is about having fun.
We do ask that anyone who is not a PGRR member fill out an event waiver form, prior to heading out on the run. Click here to print and bring with you.
