Run, Eat, Celebrate, and Remember

The Harvest Hustle is PGGR’s year-end event to run and eat together and celebrate and remember the season as well as the fallen runners and friends we have lost through the years.

This event is formally known as the Joe Kelly memorial run, it was to honour a dear friend and mentor to many in the running community.

Joe lost his life while running a race in Australia in 2013.  Every October, the club hosted a run and social gathering at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Centre to remember him and collect funds for The Right to Play, an organization close to Joe’s heart.

Now, the Harvest Hustle still remembers Joe, along with all others who were close to our hearts in the running and active community as we come together to connect.

The Event

PGRR run leaders lead participants on 30-minute, one-hour, and two-hour trail routes, taking advantage of the fall colours and amazing trail system at Otway.

The start times are staggered, so that all runners finish at the Otway Nordic Ski Centre at 11am, where we all gather for a pizza feast and PGRR full members can pick up their membership swag.

Come Join Us!  It’s a great way to pay tribute to Joe, and other friends, and remember that running is about having fun.

We do ask that anyone who is not a PGRR member fill out an event waiver form, prior to heading out on the run.  Click here to print and bring with you.
